Diagnosis before remedy
The deeds of the flesh are in opposition to the fruit the Spirit. Galatians 5:15…17
It looks and sounds a bit like this when the flesh takes over. (Or sometimes even considerably worse when you read the full list versus 19, 20, 21,!)
“I hate you because you made me sad, and also you keep disturbing me so much it causes me to be restless all of the time now, why should I do something good for you when you don’t deserve it, I going to make you to feel uncomfortable around me now, for I can’t trust anybody’s word anymore, I know what’s best for you, anyhow, I’m telling you I know how to get the best out of life my way. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
Every time I’ve seen and heard this in my grandchildren it reminds me of what my flesh is like! Praise the Saviour for eyes to see as He sees. All I want to do then is turn the other way, and say thank You Father, You sent Your remedy, Jesus the Saviour, specifically for all this selfish behaviour.
Yes Father, it’s true, it is no longer I that lives but Christ lives in me and the life I now live, I live by faith in the Son of God who loves me and gave himself for me. Thank you for your life-giving Spirit, I am now a new creation made in Christ’s likeness.
If you want to go deeper into Christ I suggest you look up the references and spend time waiting on the Holy Spirit to teach you from his word. We need to give time to the teacher (The Holy Spirit) and not time to the flesh. When He teaches, His word is life-giving, His heavenly food transforms us to be like Jesus. When we are being transformed by the saving grace of the good news message, what should we look like?
Fruit of the Holy Spirit Galatians 5:22 -24
(the secret, the Spirit supplies the perfect remedy)
Love never stops giving un-merited favour, even if the one receiving that love does not merit any favour at all! That becomes GRACE and Love even to those that hate us. Eph 5:1-2 Mat 5:44-45
Joy always remains as INNER-HAPPINESS coming up from deep within, no matter what the circumstances. 2 Cor 7:4
Peace is always being at REST together with our Heavenly Father, communicating with Him, thanking Him, knowing He will supply everything we will ever need. Phi 4:6-7
Patience is always being prepared to wait longer! I.e. LONG-SUFFERING
this means no amount of time passing should matter anymore. Our Father says, “be still,……. And know that I am God” My Heavenly Father waits for us every day to change our mind and agree with Him! Rom 2:4, (Eph 4:2)
Jesus waited 30 years before His father released the anointing to give Him the authority to deliver people from what Jesus saw daily, He was waiting for the day when He could free those around Him from what had enslaved them.
Of course there are many examples in Scripture of impatient and patient people. .
Kindness is always offering USEFULNSS to any person, God’s grace enabling us to help others. Luke 6:35
Goodness is always being a treasured and valued person to be with.
Matthew 12:34-35 not just words, but precious treasures coming from the heart.
Faith BELIEVE & TRUST in the Living Word absolutely; always receiving and responding to the Father’s word that comes into our hearts and proclaiming His word with our mouth, the word becomes the sword of the Spirit. When a mountain needs moving, faith gets the job done! Mathew 17:20.
Gentleness HUMILITY being prepared to take the lowest place, even being prepared to be humiliated, considering all people to be more important than ourselves. Philippines 2:3-8
Self-control SELF-LEAST Not my will, but Yours be done Father. This means not responding to the world and its ways, not to any demon spirit, nor to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, nor the pride of life. From now on always in all circumstances only responding to The Father’s Holy Spirit, having the mind of Christ and discovering His perfect will. Romans 12:1-2
Isn’t the Jesus we know wonderful?
